When Nothing is Deserved
I could suddenly lose you,
without an argument,
no plea of pleasure,
not a recall that suggested time,
all that might matter
would need be defined by reality
that piece of our lives
though now I would fight to the end,
deserves no solution,
beyond that which we have already
endured, envisioned, embraced.
Though that be a thoughtful argument,
I’m unable to accept this reality,
not after realizing just how beautiful life is
when I am allowed inside your eyes.
There is a freedom in letting someone inside,
with every glance,
I only want to bring some amulet,
some part of a solution,
a spectacular sunrise,
a marvelous beachside rendezvous,
a practical response to the insanity
in our formatted society.
I want to be by your side,
that I know I can be,
well that is I suppose the irony
of wakeful dreams.
