When Sleep Belittles Love
It is that place we go,
the body in normalcy feels
fatigue, a need,
to shut down, settle in, find peace in mind,
yet, that’s the crux of it right?
The mind has will of its own,
waits until that moment,
when memory can come crashing,
the sort that reminds us we do know love,
we can know love,
we have love,
and the mind is in the throes of knowing how,
we can never truly own love, it is a gift,
and a spiritual reckoning,
we can never take for granted.
How many times have we heard our ability
to love one another,
yet this is a level goes beyond words,
written about, certainly better felt.
I do love in beauty, in tears, in soft reminders,
I will have faith this will always be.
