If I Might Know
How do I react when it is your love
I might watch fall out of my hand,
the ground so absorbs in immediacy
perhaps tears do replenish rivers.
For it was a quiet night alone,
the dance allowed me to swing far,
beyond my own security, my heaven,
only to know the torment of losing you.
Yet now it is a quiet walk in winter
the frost of nature compels
naked skin to feel the sweet
reality of my moment so alive.
I did want to fall as far as I could
inside a swell of emotional turmoil,
I bathed inside that quandary
of indecision, the place we do land.
When all the world around us seems
while coming apart at the seams
to hold no resistance to a release …
At the water’s edge, I found my peace.
