I would like to be a writer. I began this site with amorous intentions, and over the course of time, I hope to have evolved as a male in an ever changing society that is today, recognizing the true beauty and elegance of woman. I am also into writing poetry. Come along for the ride.

If Melancholy Found Grace

It is because the beauty you eschew,

is a remarkable setting to the eye,

It is within the realm of sensuality

that heart may skip to your sweet presence.

It is profound the earth and sky and water

all respond to simple virtue it is true.

If when the moment arose in a quiet storm,

a gentle force of reckoning,

reactionary comments the cause of a blue

when then in the distant one might sight you

well then, the seer could easily suggest

there is such harmony beyond this distress

I would that I might hold you forever

in my arms in my thoughts, my dreams

together to withstand the storm of sadness

that melancholy journey beyond our norm.

For now today I do watch the sunrise again,

with a confident air that does cool my skin.

Oh to be the flower that might gently touch you,

your heart, such a sensual nature of knowing true.

  1. Soft footed, majestic, fragrant. What a gentle, almost gossamer ride.

I’ve once or twice also experimented on how two abstract things combine and interact. The thought of “if melancholy found grace” was eye catching. Your treatment of it in the fleshed-out poem explored it pretty well.
