When I Wake
I do in the quiet of dawn
imagine her in a sweet chiffon
or however elegance might drape
beauty, memory cannot escape.
I do recall soft moments in eyes
when I can listen to wisdom wise,
cherish the mystique sweet imagery
carry me beyond my own chancery
For it is true my simple love for you
beyond truths such creating a blue
horizon suggests a distant reckoning
in the privacy of love our awakening.
When I wake my eyes will quiet release
each damp return glisten in love’s peace.
