Glance across the sky at night
The lives of many
Listen to the rains a heavy sigh
Remember whens
A thundering pattern in rewind
We heard the storm
So many nights of quiet listen
Wonderings of the other
Knowing somber reason remain
The tears now glisten
Upon the cheek of lonely eyes
Wishing, might we listen
Again a somber passion would
Speak to time
If water would we let the cleanse
Allow our lives to breathe
Listen to the waves above a shelter
Pound the ceiling
Refusing to abate as nature’s way
Would hide a moon
So bright it would help us recall
A sweeter way
A distant memory when soft the rains
Would lead our way.
