There are tears for everyone to see,
a constant of grueling pain,
the emotional response will alway vary
for someone standing just away,
far enough to not intervene
only observe,
like spectators at a speedway,
watching a rollover
a fire ignites
and no one can intervene as quickly
as we might wish to do.
We only watch,
only watch
watch what we can.
If we could we listen to our hearts,
if we might we have a flashing moment
when compassion
speaks out loud,
we realize
a time and place,
not always our
opportunity,
because pain is never justice,
it always hurts,
destroys,
mars the moment.
If in that moment could we,
would there be an energy
brought peace,
offered solace,
recognized hardship,
and found a path
to some sweeter horizon,
feels further away then
even our own door,
our home,
our lives
in a flash
it all seems a blur.
Now is when strength
needs allowance
time to breathe
find meaning,
decisions made
cannot be interfered
only respect
will create
some new
foundation.
