We danced
checkered floor
bodies
entwined
inside our mind
who is this
guy, this her,
me too,
we wanted to know
only,
this dance will
never end.
We stepped outside
pouring rain,
looked into each other’s eyes,
introduced
our lives
standing under
a lonely storefront
a midnight street,
distant light-post
rain drenched patrons
and streets,
cobblestone
wash by puddle cars.
A block or two,
found the light
wet through now,
laughter,
smiles,
questions,
will always remain,
if we,
might that night,
smiles and sweet embrace,
she turns the key,
and he,
yeah, more smiles
saying good night
to her beautiful eyes
through the
glass
of her private
entrance.
We still dance
when we might feel
late night
tears in twilight
silent clouds
