This once was, is
my home, ours, theirs
together
so many moments
laughter is children
tears in one another’s arms
for the sake of those
might pass before our very eyes.
This foundation
we built together
carving out dreams
held decades of love
for those two
those two remarkable
children
we were blessed
fortunate to have their lives
model our own.
We were lucky
they survived,
we sucked
yet the two of them
they did
children
boy and girl
taught us how to
reason and why
… how to love …
