Trying to find my way,
a loneliness perhaps misunderstood
I would want to be
the freedom that some might suggest
follow their lives.
If the sunset is just ahead,
what happens to patience
the beauty inside a natural
world,
filtered by our reality.
I stood on a path with you thirty years ago,
I wondered about life,
the natural surrounding
overwhelmed me
leaving me a memory today.
I woke this morning
missed my trees
out my window are some saplings
I’ll age well before them,
haven’t a place for my feeders.
I’m told in my head
this journey is my own
so personal
no one can lead me,
only the paths that choose.
I’m going to watch the sunset alone tonight
It will matter more than myself.
A life might.
