What would happen if he just didn’t show up,
it’s a question,
she didn’t,
everyone believed,
confusion and anger and solemn
grief,
yet no answer ever came to anyone,
only words,
she was sad, her disorder dragged her down, she seemed distant,
and all the words could be found in
any
diagnostic manual,
just what did they miss,
oh, wait there was that part about
being human
and lost without anyone to count on,
help tread water,
teach me how to swim …
she pleaded, but the bridge was too high.
