Only when the sun rise appears
may we call it another day,
the rays envelop our soul,
give us a peace of mind,
glance out upon the world
around us all.
We still awaken
to the fears and tribulations of life beyond our control
of who we are
what matters,
how we might begin,
when did we stop
could it ever,
was there an
albatross flew near our preservation of mind.
We watched each other
fall in and out of love,
when do we decide,
who has the upper hand,
how do eyes suddenly
stop their search,
turn off the light,
the sunlight fades into the murky dawn
of a once gorgeous summer afternoon,
now pained by stormy deceit.
We once believed we might last forever
beyond an energy aside from ourselves.
