I once imagined life in a different light
lost inside my own illusion I might
have floated upon a wind swept breeze
carry me now to new horizons with ease.

We could feel and smile without any fear
a reprisal seemed distant – affection near
why we would be why was it you and me
summer nights under the stars feeling free.
~
I watched as sunsets became a final repeat
light in her eyes, her smile, passion is sweet
Would our lives ever measure up to this day
when lost we would alone and look away.
~
Oh to find sweet peace in the beauty of love
when all around, heart and soul is only love.
