A separation of mind,
when love comes between
two people
beyond an original
affection
those silent evenings
sitting alone
trying to recall just what
when, how,
because the answers
will not ever come
when a separation of mind
prevents any response
to that original moment,
the passion,
the awkward beauty of love
steps away from
heart and soul
the truth,
we did know
one another
together.
