I can’t find a way
to give you a farewell
that piece of life
ends
what we once believed
may last forever.
Yet the second guessing
nature of being
always interferes with fantasy.
I once held you in my arms
and solace
eternity before me,
one with grace and pure happiness
in the mystique of love
we share together.
I watch the sunset
the moon rise,
I watch the water
lap the shore,
I feel the beauty
of presence,
if one might ever
know the truth
could we then say
we knew love.
