My heart feels pain
where once was love,
I haven’t found a way
to leave behind
the memories.
I once remember
sitting in my apartment
there were neighbors with doves
I could lay there for an hour
and not hear them enough,
they gave me so much
peace of mind.
Like coos, like words,
like moments soft
in her arms.
I will always remember
how much she means to me
forever
Inside was a smile
buried within years of pain.
