She didn’t have to
but said hello,
and I responded
with everything I could,
I wanted to hold her
in my thoughts I’d done well,
and wished only solace
so she might hold true
the essence of a romance,
the notion of being.
I walked a thin line,
for months and years,
hoping sometime
would challenge how
our lives simply disappear.
I feel I’ve found you again,
I hope we might stroll
together on the avenue,
in hands on the trail.
I miss the wooden bridge
your eyes they never fail.
