I would like to remember you, your eyes,
even though I’m now, I’m told I’m not to
yet I cannot seem to let go of the wise
intuition that brings me always back to you.
See there can be delusion that skews minds
though how can we explain a decade before
and then now every moment we knew reminds
me there was purpose to our love we swore.
Though I cannot find you anywhere in town,
I go to all the familiar starting points
places where now I suppose memory’s frown
keeps you silent like hiding your aching joints.
I want to know only what’s happening to you now
I wish to feel some love beyond our quiet how.
